Between his roping competitions and custom cattle work throughout the southeast, Cooper enjoys attending many roping clinics from Texas to New York. He says he has been very fortunate to befriend and work personally with the best of the roping industry. Hanging out with people like Crece Harris, trainer for National Ropers Supply in Decatur, Texas; Carmine Nastri, 22 time circuit champion from Ballston, N.Y.; and Rich Skelton, eight time National Finals Rodeo World Champion from Llano, Texas, is a dream come true for Fields. But the man he most admires is an all time great rodeo cowboy, Robert Todd of Screven. “Mr. Robert has pushed me hard for the last two years in the arena, while inducting me at the same time into the best of the cowboy circle,” says Cooper.
