Stacy Jarriel, Russ Yeomans honored

Miss Stacy Jarriel and Mr. Russ Yeomans were honored on April 19, at a "Picnic in the Park" in recognition of their upcoming marriage. Guests arrived at George L. Smith State Park for a fun filled afternoon of volleyball games, horseshoes, visiting and reminiscing. Friends and families from the groom's school years enjoyed sharing memories and stories during the afternoon. Tables set up on the lawn held a wide variety of refreshments and a pewter beverage container filled with lemonade. Tables were covered with white cloths and red and white gingham overlays designed with black "picnic" ants across the cloths.

Guests were invited inside where baskets of summer flowers were used throughout the dining area to add to the party atmosphere. A delicious dinner of hamburgers, hotdogs, slaw and all the trimmings was served. Cookies and churns of homemade ice cream completed the meal. In keeping with the theme of the afternoon and evening, hosts and hostesses presented the bridal couple with a wicker picnic basket to enjoy together. Mr. Yeomans thanked the hosts, hostesses, friends and family for their role in making the day so meaningful.

Hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Don Flanders, Mr. and Mrs. Denny Key, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Purvis, Dr. and Mrs. James Ray and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Reeves.

Family members attending included Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Jarriel, parents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gronski, grandparents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Yeomans, parents of the groom; Mr. James Free, grandfather of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Blake Adams and Jake, brother-in-law, sister and nephew of the groom; and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Free and Peyton and Mrs. Michael Graston, Luke, Jacob and Joshua, cousins of the groom.
