Sam "Papa" Way, 78
Mr. Way retired from the Georgia Power Company and was a former Boy Scout leader. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by a son, Samuel Donny Way and his wife, Anna daughter, Debra Way Giffin, and her husband, Robert; four grandchildren, Amanda Way Custodio, Kimberly Way, Brandon Shirey and wife, Brittany, and Samantha Way; a great grandchild, Kaylee Nicole Shirey; and two brothers, Bobby Don Way and Charles Coleman. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Amos Way, his mother, Inez Coleman, his step father, Gene Coleman, and a brother, Nearl Gene Coleman. Pallbearers were Rickey Peace, Greg Stoll, Bryan Way, Joey Way, Bob Way, Norris Copeland, Harry Lane, and Alex Giffin. If so desired, memorials may be to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, Georgia, 30909. Platt's Funeral Home at 337 N. Belair Rd. had arrangements.
