CCR&R agency holds free community concerts for children

DON MONOPOLI
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia at Swainsboro Technical College held a total of three free community concerts. The first concert was held Tuesday, April 22 at the Swainsboro Emanuel County City Auditorium with approximately 900 children in attendance. Then on Wednesday, April 23, two back to back concerts were held in Laurens County at Theatre Dublin with over 1000 children attending. All three concerts featured Don Monopoli, a member of the children's entertainment group, The Learning Station.

The Learning Station's positive image has achieved the highest standing in the educational community. Known for their enthusiastic and motivating music style, they have earned a top ten position paving the way as leaders in the children's educational music industry. Don Monopoli performed some of his most requested recordings such as Tony Chestnut, Get Funky, The Bear Hunt, as well as many more for audiences of children, child care professionals and parents.

Angela Hines, CCR&R Director at Swainsboro Technical College, commented, "Don Monopoli reached out to the audience and engaged their attention- adults and children alike. Through music, song and imagination, the children had an opportunity to have fun while learning as they enjoyed the musical experience."

These concert events were held to recognize and celebrate April as the Month of the Young Child. The theme for this year's celebration is "Bringing Communities Together for Children - Children Bring Communities Together."
