      Although Mother Nature called for rain on Saturday, the sun shone brightly at Swainsboro Raceway. With an action packed night, racing action went smoother than ever as the last feature race ended at 10:15pm breaking track record for time.

Bulldogs C team 3-A Region Champs!
      The Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs CTeam won the Georgia Middle Schools Region 3- ABaseball Championship on Saturday, April 19th, 2008, by defeating the Metter Tigers in Twin City. The Bulldogs were 9-2 in the regular season losing only one region game, and were 14-2 overall.

Swainsboro Shrine Club holds Golf Tournament
      Mike Cowart, Jason Farmer and Jerry Bedenfield (not pictured) won the Swainsboro Shrine Club Golf Tournament by a score card play off with a score of 60. The Shrine Club would like to thank all of the players and the hole sponsors for their support of this tournament.

SHS boys track team wins region 3-AA championship

      The Swainsboro Tigers Boys Track Team pulled off a stunning victory over the rest of the region in the Region 3-AA Track Meet last week. The Tigers won the event with 129 points, 20 more than 2nd place and 40 more than 3rd place.

      The tennis teams for Swainsboro Middle School have been extremely busy. The team has played six matches within 14 days, with three being on the road. Both girls and boys teams have come off the schedule with a 3- 3 win/loss record.

      The Swainsboro Tigers baseball team faced off with Cross Creek last Monday, April 14. Justin Newsome sent one flying for a solo home run and Austin Peebles pitched hard, but it just wasn't enough to bring Cross Creek down. The Tigers were defeated 9-1.

      The Swainsboro Tigers tennis team entered the region tournament last week. Facing Metter in the 1st round of the tournament on April 14 were Ty Gillis, Drake Ogelsby and Tyler Yeomans. These singles players quickly put their opponents down to win the match without the need of any doubles matches.
