The final game of the Tiger tennis season has been played and the Region Playoffs have begun. On Thursday, April 10, the Swainsboro Tigers challenged the Metter Tigers at East Georgia College. It was as coach David Ray called it, "the most important game of the season." This game would determine where the Swainsboro Tigers started in the Region Playoffs.

There was some hostility with Metter the previous season, but this match went very smoothly. Some of the matches were long and close but the Tigers managed to come out on top. Due to some technicalities, the boys team almost had their match won before any playing even happened. The girls, however, had to earn every single bit of what they won. Both the boys and girls teams came out on top, giving them the edge they wanted for the first round of the Region Playoffs which begin on April 14 for the boys and April 15 for the girls. Since the Tigers beat Metter, they earned the right to a home field advantage in the first round. The Tigers will play Metter once again in the first round of the playoffs.

If all goes well for our Tiger tennis teams they will be going to the semifinals Thursday, April 17. The match will be held at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta, Georgia. Cross your fingers for the Tigers and maybe they will become Region Champions!
