And the kitchen sink, too!
On the morning of April 2, 2008, travelers East of Swainsboro on Highway 80 had quite a sight to behold: a twostory blue-grey house lumbering down the road on the back of an enormous flatbed trailer. The production, which took around an hour, involved trucks from the power company to hold up the lines that crossed the road so that the structure could move beneath them, people from both the telephone and cable companies there to make sure all lines were safe from the structure and representatives from the police and sheriff's offices to conduct traffic. The 27 1/2 foot tall by 34 foot wide house, owned by Mike Gray of Ramsey Candy Company, was moved from Twin City to property 2 1/2 miles West outside the town towards Swainsboro by Braswell Brothers House Movers. Well done to all parties involved for the efficient negation of that pesky "moving into a new house" routine!
