Lumberjack team to perform at PTF/Expo

Scheer's Lumberjack Shows are bringing their Lumberjack Team to Swainsboro on May 8th, 9th & 10th, 2008 at the Swainsboro Recreational complex. Scheer's Lumberjack Shows Powered by STIHL provides a unique blend of sports, history and comedy. The show includes an opportunity for the audience to experience a reenactment of a nostalgic logging competition of the early 1900s.

Captivating audiences for the past 25 years, Scheer's Lumberjack Shows provides images of man against the forest from a sport derived out of our nation's heritage. Featuring skills that were a part of the loggers every day work, logger sports requires the speed, agility, strength and skill of top athletes.

Highlighting the history of lumberjacking, Scheer's Lumberjack Shows combines the perfect ingredients for an authentic lumberjack production. The show includes six different lumberjack events performed by top athletes clad in checkered shirts and steel-toed boots. A highlight of the show is the theatrical narration delivered by one of our announcers.

The Show includes such events as axe throwing, speed chopping, log rolling, cross cut sawing, hot sawing and chainsaw carving. Old time lumberjacks from the logging camps of North America used these century old skills. To pass idle time, lumberjacks would challenge each other in a headto head competition where their skills were put to the test. Although technology and machinery have replaced manual labor, the skills of the old time lumberjacks are still being practiced with perfection in the Scheer's Lumberjack Show.

Scheer's Lumberjack Shows have been featured on ABC's Wide World of Sports, TNN, ESPN Jeep Trails, Discovery Channel's "The Travelers," MTV's Real World and Road Rules and the Family Channel, and in hundreds of newspapers and television/radio broadcasts, just to name a few. All media combined, Scheer's Lumberjack Shows reaches over one million people each year.

So come on out to the Swainsboro Recreational complex located off Kite Rd. and pay the Scheer's Lumberjacks a visit. Bring the whole family; YOU will be glad you did.
