Relay for Life Survivors' Dinner
The Eighth Annual Survivorship Dinner honoring local cancer survivors and their Caregivers, sponsored by Emanuel Medical Center, East Georgia College and The Relay for Life Planning Committee, was held at 6:00pm on Monday April 7th in the Richard L Brown room at East Georgia College.

Brandi Hudson gave the opening remarks followed by a wonderful invocation given by Dilan Oglesby. Chuck Wofford of Emanuel Medical Center provided the Official Welcome. DeAnna Moore introduced the Guest Speaker for the evening, Mrs. Linda Dekle Lamb. Mrs. Lamb is an eight-year survivor and also knows what it is like to be a Caregiver. She spoke about how Cancer has affected her life in so many ways and that with faith, family and friends, Cancer is easier to face. She reminded everyone that we should always look for the Rainbows in our lives and take time to "stop and smell the roses."

An invitation is being extended to everyone to attend the 8th Annual Relay for Life, which will be held April 18, 2008 at the Swainsboro High School Tiger Field. Cancer has touched so many lives in this community. This is a battle that is not only fought by the individual that has Cancer, but also by their family and friends. If you are not currently registered as a survivor and would like more information, please contact DeAnna Moore at (478) 289- 9900 or (478) 668-3784. "I feel fortunate to be able to serve on the Survivorship Committee and honor those who have been touched by Cancer."
