Letters To The Editor

Dear Editor,

I have been reading in the Swainsboro Blade newspaper about getting Swainsboro cleaned up of trash on our roadways. I would like to tell you about a man that has been doing just that for a long time. He will walk along the roads in our community with several plastic bags picking up what some of our drivers think is OK to throw along the road. There will be food wrappers, beer cans, soda bottles, and even baby diapers. This man will walk every morning along McKenzie Drive, Phillips Street, and has continued along Christopher Drive. I know that every driver that uses these roads has seen this man picking up this trash and still every morning he has two or three bags of trash that were thrown out of a vehicle from one day to the next. This man is a blessing to our community and I for one would like to thank him for what he is doing and not thinking of himself but the community of southern pines.
Thank you,
Vera Simpson
