Annual pageants to kick off Pine Tree Festival activities Swainsboro Rotary Club will be holding the 63rd Annual Pine Tree Festival pageants on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Auditorium. The pageants will being at 10 a.m. with the Baby Miss Pine Tree Festival competition for ages 0 to 11 months old. Competitions will also be held for the Toddler Miss (ages 12 months to 23 months), Wee Miss (ages 24 months to 35 months), Tiny Miss (ages 3 years to 4 years) and Little Miss (ages 5 years to 6 years). Beginning at 2 p.m. competition for the Young Miss Pine Tree Festival (ages 7 years to 9 years) will begin. Competitions will follow for the Petite Miss (ages 10 years to 12 years) and Teen Miss (ages 13 years to 15 years). The pageants will conclude with the crowning of the Miss Pine Tree Festival Queen (ages 16 to 21 years). All pageant winners will receive a beautiful large crown, embroidered banner, custom trophy and will ride on the Queen's float for the Pine Tree Festival Parade to be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The entry fee for pageant participants will be $ 40 with a sister discount of $25 available. Applications for entry are located at the Citizens Bank of Swainsboro, Spivey State Bank, Durden Banking Company, BB&T, Emanuel County Farm Bureau, the Southern Dance Connection, and Steps Performing Company. All applications should be completed, accompanied by a check payable to "Swainsboro Rotary Club" and mailed to Stephanie Fagler, 705 Golf Drive, Swainsboro, GA 30401. The Swainsboro Rotary Club encourages the public to attend and support all of the activities for the new and improved Pine Tree Festival. Admission for adults will be $5 and $3 for children three or older. All children under the age of three will be admitted for free. The Rotary Club will have hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and other refreshments available for sale for the duration of the pageants.
