Stephens, Hall honored at shower

Miss Starr Stephens and Mr. Sam Hall, who will be married May 17, were guests of honor at a country cookout and shower at the Citizens Bank Clubhouse Saturday evening, March 15.

Hosting the party were Lucille and Don Braswell, Diane and Willis Claxton, Susan Cross, Lynda English, Jessie and Donnie Garrett, Nancy and Gary Hodges, Anne and George Hostilo, Ann and Buddy Lawson, Shirley and Denny Riner, and Susan and Robert Surrency.

Mrs. Riner welcomed guests into the beautifully decorated clubhouse and introduced the groom-elect and his parents. Mrs. Claxton presented Starr a lovely corsage of yellow alstromeria, white waxflower, gold button poms, limonium, and white daisies with white organza ribbon.

The clubhouse was decorated in an Easter theme with large wooden bunnies centered on the tables surrounded by colorful eggs. The serving area held beautiful spring flower arrangements.

After a time of reminiscing and fellowship, Mr. Braswell formally welcomed everyone and asked Mitchell Fagler to give invocation.

The engaged couple, their families and many guests served themselves from a buffet of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings, Don's famous baked beans, chips, dips, and banana pudding for dessert.

Following the delicious meal, Starr and Sam enjoyed opening their array of gifts. They were assisted by Miss Logan Sweat of Wrightsville.

Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Stephens; Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Fagler, Luke and Jacob; Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Hall of Milledgeville and Dr. and Mrs. Greg McKeever and Erika Ann of Savannah.
