Miss Riles, Mr. Riner honored with barbecue Christie Riles and Brad Riner were honored with a family barbecue October 12 in the restored 1900 cabin on Nilo Plantation in Albany. Hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pate and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Paschal. Tables were set up on the grounds facing a lake on the huge plantation. Decorations were vases filled with sunflowers grown on Nilo. For the occasion, Miss Riles was attired in jeans and a black and white silk top. The delicious meal consisted of barbecued wild hog, which was killed on the plantation by Mr. Paschal, baked beans, slaw and dessert. Special guests included Mr. and Mrs. Britt Riles and Mr. and Mrs. William Riner, parents of the engaged couple; Mr. and Mrs. Jared Stubbs, sister and brother-in-law of the groom-elect; Mrs. Gloria Gates and Mrs. JoAnn Riles and Mrs. Betty Woods, grandmothers of the couple. Aunts, uncles and cousins included: Mrs. Joyce Johnson, Miss Beth Riner, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Lane, Mr. and Mrs. Burt Riles, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Riles and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Field. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and sharing stories of the engaged couple around the bonfire. Hostesses presented the couple with a pewter casserole dish. Miss Riles and Mr. Riner thanked the hostesses, family members and friends for their love and helping to celebrate their upcoming marriage. A wooden monogrammed platter was given to Mr. and Mrs. Pate and Mr. and Mrs. Paschal.
