The Georgia-Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America inducted five scouts and one leader from Troop 75 as Ordeal members in The Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. The OA recognizes those campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and, by such recognition, cause other campers to conduct themselves in such a manner as to warrant similar recognition, to promote camping, and to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others. The Induction took place recently in a special campfire ceremony at Knox Scout Reservation at Clark Hill. after they completed the Ordeal requirements.
The scouts were Cameron Warnock, Hunter Gay, Steven Chrysosferidis, David Porter and Phillip Torrance. The leader was Assistant Scoutmaster Phil Torrance. Assistant Scoutmaster Courtney Terwilliger was inducted as a Brotherhood member in a special ceremony after completing requirements for that level. The Order of the Arrow is unusual in that the members of the Order are elected by nonmembers and only one election is held per year in each Troop.
