Benefit program

A benefit program for Dorothy "Dot" Gardner will be held Saturday, April 5 at Lester Grove Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Local gospel groups will perform. Proceeds will help with Mrs. Gardner's' hospital bills.

The Blade incorrectly stated Mrs. Gardner's name as Sanders last week. We regret the error.

Mt. Gilead

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church will host a Youth Sing Convention Sunday, March 30 at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Jiqual Simmons, 15-year-old ninth grader at Swainsboro High School. He is the son of Angela and Kevin Simmons and is a member of Georgia Southern University Educational Talent Search Program and a youth minister at McLeod Covenant Baptist Church. His pastor is Rev. Robert Fullwood.

Sardis PBC

Sardis Primitive Baptist Church will be conducting a one night meeting on Wednesday, March 26. The guest speaker will be Elder Lasseure Bradley, pastor of Cincinnati Primitive Baptist Church. Dinner will be served at 6:30 in the church social hall with preaching at 7 p.m.

Calvary UMC

Providence Quartet will present a program of Southern gospel singing at Calvary United Methodist Church, Swainsboro, Sunday, April 6 at 6 p.m., according to the Rev. Nick Hazelton, pastor.

Providence Quartet members, Toby, Robbie, Rick and Johnny collectively share over 60 years of spreading God's Word through music.

"Supported by their families, churches and communities, the group's professionalism stems from knowing that being a Christian requires makng decisions every day that reflect the God they serve," a spokesman for the group stated.

Greater St. James

Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church will be in revival March 31-April 4 at 7:30 nightly. Guest speaker will be Rev. Stanford Anderson, pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill. Pastor is Rev. Bennie Brinson.

Midville UMC

Midville United Methodist Church will celebrate its 132nd anniversary with an old-fashioned Homecoming and Dinner on the Grounds on Sunday, March 30, at 11 a.m., according to the pastor, the Rev. Tony Smith. The Rev. Dr. Larry Wilson, pastor of Lithia Springs UMC, will be the featured speaker.
