Backyard vegetable gardening class Emanuel County Extension Office is offering a free class on Backyard Vegetable Gardening to be held on Thursday, April 3 at the Varner 4-H Center in Swainsboro. The program is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.. The class will cover issues associated with soil fertility, nematode and insect control, organic production, planting dates, and managing Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus and other hot topics. Participants with a Private Pesticide Applicators License will receive one hour of recertification credit. Instructors for the class will be Mark Crosby and Jerald Larson.
