Mayor's Thanks

This past Saturday, the city of Swainsboro sponsored a community-wide cleanup day as part of the effort to combat litter in our area.

I would like to thank our wonderful co-sponsors who helped make this day successful: OMI, Sullivan Environmental, the Chamber of Commerce and WXRS. I would also like to thank the Citizens Bank Advisory Board for demonstrating the true meaning of volunteerism. We can all take pride in the example of these young people. Wal- Mart deserves recognition for their participation as well.

A special thanks goes to The Forest-Blade for their continuing role in bringing attention to the problem of litter in our city. I believe we are making a real difference in this situation and I urge everyone to continue the effort to make our city and cleaner and more appealing place. If we all help a little, it will make a difference.--Mayor Charles Schwabe, City of Swainsboro.
