One cited for littering
      Debbie Burch of Millen was cited Feb. 15 for dumping trash on the roadway. Her name and address were found among an estimated 30 pounds of household garbage dumped at 69 Joiner Lane. She was ordered to appear at the Magistrate Court on March 20.

Stillmoreroots Group holds 2008 Art in the Woods

      Swainsboro Middle School hosted a Math & Science Family Night on March 6, 2008. Offered by the Magnolia Midlands Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center (GYSTC), Math & Science Family Night provides an evening of hands-on math and science activities for students and their parents.

Anything for a good cause...
      Scott Rosenau, plant manager for Nordson Corporation, has proven he will do almost anything for a good cause. On Friday, March 21, he had his head shaved for Relay for Life. He stated early in the campaign that he would shave his head for Relay if we raised $1500 for the cause.

ECI Literary Team competes
      On March 7 the Emanuel County Institute Literary Team competed at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia in Region 3-A competition. All six of ECI's competitors placed in their respective areas. The team brought home the overall Region Runner-up trophy placing 2nd out of 6 schools.
