Juanita Flanders Lawson, 88

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Juanita Flanders Lawson, 88, was held Monday, March 17 at Peebles Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wilmer Hall and Rev. Wayne Page officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Friday, March 14, 2008, in the care of United Hospice.

Mrs. Lawson was a native and life-long resident of Swainsboro. She was retired from Creston's Knitting Mill, where she worked as a pattern maker. She was a former Home Demonstration Club Woman of the Year, a member of the Moring Chapter of the DAR and a member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church where she was active in the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class and Wednesday Prayer Group. She enjoyed antiquing and embroidery and had made special pieces for each family member. She was the daughter of the late L. Alonso Flanders and Nona Bell Lawson Lamb and was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Thomas Watson Lawson; son Tommy Wessie Lawson; brother Hartwell Flanders; and sister Vonell Kersey.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Thomasene and Jimmy Flanders of Swainsboro; brother, Wessie Flanders of Kite; grandchildren, T'- Lene Carter of Aline; Sherri Flanders of Savannah, Emmie Gray of Cherryvale, Kansas; Tommy Perry Flanders of Pembroke; three great grandchildren, T'Neil Williams of Twin City, Ryan Phipps of Millen; Brandon Bouchillon of Savannah; three great great grandchildren and nephew, Doyle Kersey.

Flander Morrison Funeral Home and Durden- Hudson Funeral Directors had charge of the arrangements.
