Eight suspects arrested in area robberies

In the past week, eight suspects have been arrested in charged in three major thefts in Emanuel County:

Brannon Troy Sisk, 39, of Cartersville, Georgia was arrested for the Jan. 18 theft of a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup from Daniels South Side Auto Sales. Sisk was captured in Florida and returned to Emanuel County to face charges of theft by taking of a motor vehicle and is also wanted in Chatham County and in South Carolina.

James Richard "J.R." Faircloth II, 24, and Mary Christy Faircloth, 30, of Adrian, and James Spivey Roberts, 23, of Swainsboro, were all arrested for theft by taking when they attempted to sell scrap metal that they had stolen from the property of an Emanuel County resident.

Jeremy Ray Fields, 35, listed as homeless, Russell Woodrow Taylor, 25 of Augusta, William Hanson Newsome, 29, of Swainsboro, and Robert Hopkins, 37, of Augusta, were all arrested in a theft and resell scheme of stainless steel stemming from a business in Emanuel County where several thousand dollars worth of stainless steel was taken and sold. Fields, Hopkins and Taylor were stopped by Sheriff's Investigators in the act of transporting some of the stolen stainless steel.

Taylor is also being held on a Superior Court probation warrant, and multiple traffic charges, including running into an investigator's car when he was attempting to elude officers. Fields also is being held on a State Court bench warrant and Superior Court probation warrant. Newsome is being held on multiple felon theft warrants.
