Bulldogs receive Championship trophy
By JERRY HOWELL

ECI FOOTBALL PLAYERS WITH TROPHY
In Twin City, a very special team and special group of people gathered in the auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. The Bulldog Nation was honored with the presentation of the Class AState Championship trophy. Bulldog Alumni, Patty Hendley, had the honor and pleasure of presenting the trophy to Milan Coach Turner and the Bulldogs. Patty represents State Farm Insurance Company, who sponsors the trophies for each classification. Patty has a State Farm Agency in Dublin.

Coach Turner opened the ceremony by honoring the team, cheerleaders, crowd and all schoolaffiliated people. He also commended the parents on the job they have done with each of the players. Sometimes one fails to mention a name or a group, but everybody was involved in this ceremony.

The 12th player was also represented at this ceremony. The fans are whom I'm talking about. They came out in force one more time.

Emanuel County Schools Superintendent Butch Frye, along with his school board, were in attendance. Mr. Boyd English, principal at E.C.I., gave praise to the parents, coaching staff, teachers and the entire Bulldog team for such an accomplishment. The entire ceremony was about the community and what these 48 young men did to make this all happen. Guest speaker was Mr. Ralph Carlyle, a former science teacher, who taught all these players in the 7th grade. Mayor Jimmy Greenway read the proclamation that was drawn up by Twin City city council.

Again, congratulations to the 15-0 Class A Sate Champions and the entire Bulldog Nation on a very special year!
