Dean Council Stein, 79 ST. SIMONS--Funeral for Dean Council Stein, 79, was held Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at First United Methodist Church of Kingsland with the Reverend Paul Dupree officiating. She died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at her residence. The youngest child, Mrs. Stein was born in 1928 to the late John W. and Leila Casey Council. She was raised in Swainsboro, but spent much of her adult life in the Washington, D.C. area where she raised her family. She moved to St. Simons Island 10 years ago. She was a homemaker and avid golfer. She loved to take care of her family. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Stein of St. Simons Island; a daughter, Deborah Kennedy of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Judy Stein of St. Simons Island; a brother, Jack Council of Swainsboro; three grandchildren, Jonathan Stein of New York, N.Y.; Leila Kennedy of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; and Alexander Stein of St. Simons Island; and a great-grandchild, Annalise Braddock Kennedy of Fernandina Beach, Fla. Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick had charge of arrangements.
