Beatrice Coleman, 87

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Beatrice Coleman, 87, was held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Elder Irene Wells officiating and Pastor Leroy Williams assisting. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Dec. 24, 2007 at Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Coleman was born on July 31, 1920 to the late Joe C. Coney and Agnes C. Coney (Ma) in Laurens County. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead Baptist Choir, Willow Spring Burial Society and Ohoopee Grove Burial Society. She worked at Diamond Bros. and Sportswear. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Coleman Jr.; eight siblings and three children.

Survivors include a daughter, Arlene James of Bridgeton, N.J.; five sons, Elbert Coleman and James Coleman of Baltimore, Md.; Lester Coleman of Swainsboro; Charles Coleman of Danbury, Conn.; Maryland and Troy Randall of Twin City; a sister, Irene Coney Wells of Brooksville, Fla.; two brothers, Willie Lee Coney of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Charlie Lee Coney of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jackie Hills, Jerry Randall Jr., Troy K. Randall, Lavonté Steele, Timothy Randall and Bobby Steele.

Mosley's Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
