Proud of ECI!

DEAR EDITOR:

Sometimes we are lucky enough to be a part of history and I am glad to say I was. ECI Bulldogs are the 2007 State Champs. I am so proud of our team, even more I am proud of our community, county, and state. Football means competition and we definitely have fierce competition with our surrounding counties, but when we entered region playoffs that changed.

As the ticket taker at the visitor's gate, I was amazed and definitely pleased with the support that ECI received from the teams that we battle on the gridiron. I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who supported our football team. As we traveled out of Emanuel County with our vehicle's windows decorated in support of our Dawgs, we had many positive conversations about our city, coaching staff, community, county, football team, principal, school, students, superintendent, and teachers. These conversations positively focused on the present and the past.

Needless to say, my heart swelled with pride. I have never been so happy to say that I am a teacher at ECI and I live in Emanuel County. I would like to give thanks to God for allowing me to work at such a wonderful place, in addition to allowing me to live in such a supportive area. We do not know what next year's football season will bring, but I know this much the 2007 season was a season that will not be soon forgotten. The saying "Bulldog Pride is City Wide" was changed to "Bulldog Pride is State Wide" and I am so glad that I was there to be a part of it.
