On Saturday, January 5, at 11:59 a.m., two cars were involved in an accident at the intersection of Ga. Hwy 57 and Ga. Hwy 4 (Hwy 1 Bypass). The first vehicle, a 2006 maroon Honda Accord driven by Diane Hall of Wadley, stopped at the intersection. The second vehicle, a 2002 white Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Robbie Roberts, Jr. of Swainsboro, was traveling South on Ga. Hwy 4. Hall failed to yield after stopping and struck Roberts on the driver's side, causing Hall's vehicle to spin clockwise and come to rest 72 feet from the place of impact, while Roberts' Monte Carlo came to rest 131 feet from the impact. Both drivers and Sharon Hall, the passenger in the Accord, sustained injuries and were taken to Emanuel Medical Center for treatment. Diane Hall was given one citation for failure to yield after stopping.
