Brianna Wright receives award at banquet

BRIANNA WRIGHT RECEIVES AWARD FROM CRAIG DAWES
The Southern Stockhorse Association held its annual awards banquet in Florence, S.C. on Dec. 8. Brianna Wright, 12, was named overall reserve high points winner in her age division, receiving a $400 savings bond. She also received high points awards in the categories of cutting and speed. In addition to her savings bonds, she also received two Montana belt buckles.

When competing in Southern Stockhorse Association, points are accumulated based on one horse/one rider in different categories such as pleasure, cutting, reining, and speed events. The Association promotes the "versatility horse" as one that is willing to do multiple tasks for its rider in a calm and willing manner. They also celebrate the cowboy as a solid symbol of America and a positive role model for the young and old.

She is the daughter of Keith and Kristi Wright of Swainsboro.
