EMC volunteer officers named

EVANS, COLEMAN, BELL, STOCKHOLM

At the annual Christmas party held recently for the Emanuel Medical Center Volunteers, officers for the upcoming year were installed by Beth Hudson, director of community relations. Ted Stockholm will service as president; Kathy Bell, vice president; Patricia Coleman, secretary; and Annette Evans, treasurer.

After a buffet brunch, Len Daugherty, CEO gave an update to the 22 volunteers present regarding the progress of Emanuel Medical Center.

Outgoing officers Dot Fagler, president; Jackie Townsend, secretary; Gladys Hoke and Annette Evans, treasurer were thanked for their services during the 2005-07 term.

The EMC volunteers are assigned to various locations throughout the hospital and nursing home, usually one day a week for a three-hour shift. Areas of service include the information desk, Sunshine Corner gift shop, radiology department, nursing home and patient aid.

The 30 volunteers donated approximately 4,600 hours last year. For more information about the EMC volunteer program, call 289-1274.
