Proud of our community!

DEAR EDITOR:

I have always been proud to say that I am from Emanuel County but never more so than last Friday at noon in the Georgia Dome! Looking out over the sea of red (and I'm not talking about Clinch County red either) was overwhelming. We were loud and proud! One Dome employee even remarked that we brought more supporters than the Atlanta Falcons (does that really surprise anyone though?)

The support ECI has received from the people of Emanuel County and surrounding counties (Jenkins, Candler, Bulloch, and others) has been awesome. I have been blessed to be able to teach here at ECI from where I graduated in 1979. We have always known what a great school we have here and others are beginning to find that out! Our administration and coaching staff here have been a blessing to our students and the community in that they are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in and guide our students in the right way. They lead by example! Thank you Mr. English, Coach Bonds, and Coach Turner for that!

The welcome home Friday night was truly the icing on the cake! In all my years, I have never witnessed anything like it. Starting in Nunez, through Swainsboro, and ending up here in Twin City where it all started--at the football field--the turnout of supporters was amazing!
