Blount scores 20 in win against Twiggs

The Eagles opened the season with a 55-25 loss at home to Pinewood as Dustin Baker netted 20 points and Justin Poppel tossed in 12. Hudson Johnson had eight for DEA with Joseph Sparks scoring four, John Mark Sweat netting three, and Brandon Blount, Marshall Blount, Gavin Harper, Miles Patterson and Will Smith all scoring two.

Last Tuesday the Eagles were defeated 89-38 at Bulloch Academy despite a 28-point performance by Joseph Sparks. John Mark Sweat with five, Gavin Harper with four and Brandon Blount with one also scored in the loss. Darion Carter scored 22 points for the Gators while Will Powell and Arne Beneker each had 12 and Win Lee and Jordan Walker each finished with ten.

DEA will be in action this Saturday when they travel to Waynesboro to face Edmund Burke Academy in a non-region game starting with the varsity girls at 5:00. The Eagles and Lady Eagles will return home on Tuesday December 18 to face Robert Toombs in a region contest.
