$10,000 donation

Sheriff Tyson Stephens and Chief Deputy Joel Beecher recently donated a $10,000 check from the Crime Victims Assistance Committee of Emanuel County to Betty Dell Williams, executive director of the Refuge Domestic Violence Shelter in Vidalia; and Karen Brantley, chair. The center serves Emanuel County and also serves as a rape crisis center. Chief Deputy Beecher is also on the board of directors of the shelter. "We would like to thank the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office for its support," said Williams. The shelter can be reached at 1-866-8-REFUGE.
