      The Swainsboro High School Tiger boys' basketball team began their 2007- 08 season last Tuesday night against the Fighting Irish of Dublin High School. The boys squeaked out a tough one, 78-75. Senior Tony Mitchell led the way for the Tigers with 39 points.

     Ashley Cowart killed this big buck while she was hunting with her husband Jody Cowart in Midville. She killed the nine point buck on Nov. 3. The buck weighed in at 160 lbs and had a 16.5 inch spread.

Lady Tigers off to rough start

      The Swainsboro High School Lady Tigers are off to a shaky start after losing their first two games of the season. The Lady Tigers dropped a very close game to Dublin last Tuesday night, 44-45. Their woes continued this past weekend against Vidalia. The Indians beat the Tigers, 65- 30.

     Austin Scarboro, 10 years old, took his first deer on Nov. 11 while hunting with his father and Uncle Garry. Scarboro is the son of Shane and Dawn Scarboro of Twin City.
