Seedling Garden Club holds auction

EMMALENE YOUMANS AND MARTHA COBB
Seedling Garden Club met on Monday, Nov. 12 at the home of Mrs. Martha Cobb. This meeting was the annual auction held to make money for club projects, one of which is beautification of the Emanuel County Court House. Members brought items to be auctioned.

Linda Dekle Lamb, vice president, presided in the absence of president, Kay Peacock. After calendars were given out, a report from the seven members that attended the Oleander District Annaul Meeting held at Ebernezer in Rincon, and a welcome to new member Patty Bareford, a short business meeting was held.

Hostesses, Martha Cobb and Emmalene Youmans served subsandwiches, soda, chips,dips and desserts to the 13 members and two visitors present. The home was beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

Auctioneer, Dabney Edenfield added to the excitement as members enjoyed bidding on items they desired. An array of itmes such as wreaths, baked goods, floral arrangements, handmade baskets, linens and a beautiful hand made Christmas quilt was up for bids. Members and guests had a fun time and went home with gifts to keep or give.

Seedling Garden Club is a member of the Oleander District of The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. and the Deep South Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
