Mildred E. Wrye Wimberly, 85

TWIN CITY- Funeral for Mildred E. Wrye Wimberly, 85, was held Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. in Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Twin City with Rev. Charles Beasley officiating. Burial was in Wimberly Family Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Wimberly was born in Cobbtown and lived most of her adult life in Garfield and Twin City. She was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Twin City. Mrs. Wimberly was retired from Jockey International, Millen, with 35 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wimberly Sr.; her parents, Charles W. Wrye and Minnie Lee Davis Wrye; stepmother, Dollie Cannady Wrye; sister, Jewel .W. Collins; brothers, Clinton D.. Wrye, Clemen Wrye, Woodrow Wrye and Hubert (Pete) Wrye.

Survivors include sons, Henry ( Margie) Wimberly of Firahome, Fla.; John W. (Helen) Wimberly of Ashburn and Walter J. Wimberly of Twin City; daughters, Elizabeth Gayle W. Hester and Sandra W Rountree Poole both of Twin City; 10 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren; a sister, Vera W. Smith Oglesby; and very close family friend, Kim Lish of Fla.

Pallbearers were Bill Hardiman, Lloyd Proctor, Allen Braswell, Austin Wimberly, Buddy McNair and Tony McNair.

Wood Funeral Home of Metter had charge of arrangements.
