Crop comparisons for 2008 Emanuel County farmers are invited to attend a special program comparing cropping options for 2008. The program will begin at 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 26. Dr. Nathan Smith and Dr. Don Shirley, extension economists,will be in Midville to present a price outlook for 2008 crops, present a brief update of the farm bill status at that time, present budgets and comparisons of net returns for various crops. They will also present and demonstrate a wholefarm budget tool that includes government payments. The Crop Comparisons for 2008 program is sponsored by the Emanuel, Burk, Jefferson and Jenkins County Extension Service Offices.
