Board vacancies announced

During its meeting Monday night, Emanuel County Commission announced:

1. A vacancy on Swainsboro Emanuel County Joint Development Authority Board. Commissioners will select an individual to fill the position of Bill Simmons. The citizen to fill this position must live in the unincorporated area of the county. Interested individuals may contact Ezra Price, county administrator. A candidate will be chosen at the December meeting.

2. Two vacancies on Emanuel County Hospital Authority Board. The term of Craig McNeely and Dr. Anthony Howard have expired. Dr. Howard is a physician appointment and may be re-appointed; McNeely has served two terms and cannot be re-appointed. Commissioners will submit three names to the Authority to fill the expired term of McNeely.

Also at the meeting, the board approved the low bid of $5,300 from Emanuel Well for drilling a well and installing a septic system at Dellwood Rural Fire Department. The other bid was from Darrell Williams Well Drilling Company at $6,397.30.
