Community blood drive slated
      Emanuel Medical Center will sponsor a blood drive on Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. in the front parking lot of the hospital. Donors are reminded to bring their donor card and photo ID. Every donor will receive a free cholesterol screening and free gift.

      Mac is a young, male, brown and black multi-colored dog with semi-long hair. He was wearing a brown leather collar and was found near the Dixie Youth baseball field. He loves to play tug-o-war and ball. Great with people but chases cars and cats. Will be given free to a good home.

      The GED Examination registration will be held at Swainsboro Tech Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. in Building 8 and 6 p.m. in Building 1, Room 1109. Testing will be Dec. 3 and 4. November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month
      There are more than 5 million Americans suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and an estimated 11 to 16 million will have Alzheimer's by the year 2050. Over 160,000 people in Georgia have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and 70 percent of them are cared for at home.
