DEA loses to Windsor Forest, 42-8 Football season came to an end for David Emanuel Academy with a 42-8 loss to Windsor Academy last Friday night in Macon. With the non-region loss, DEA finishes the year at 4-6 while the Knights complete regular season play with a 10-1 mark and an upcoming trip to the GISA class AA playoffs. The home team completely dominated the first half while building a 32-0 lead. Four different Knights scored starting with Kent Gibson who tallied on a 19 yard run to cap a seven play 74 yard drive late in the first quarter. Windsor scored four more touchdowns in the second quarter as Derek Scarbury scored on a one yard run and a 17 yard run, Dillard Mitchell scored on a four yard run and Justin Jones caught a touchdown pass that covered six yards from Seth Fuller. The Eagles were unable to produce a single first down in the first 24 minutes of play. Gibson scored on a 16 yard run in the third quarter and Jordan Peacock kicked a 25 yard field goal with 5:39 left to play to complete the Windsor scoring. DEA prevented the shutout when Brandon Blount passed to Derek Lindsey who raced 62 yards down the sideline for a touchdown with 3:02 showing. Ashton Lanier caught the pass from Blount for the two point play. One of the few bright spots in the game was that Joseph Sparks went over the 1000 yard rushing mark for the season during the contest. Sparks finished with 60 yards on 14 carries to give him a total of 1002. The loss brought to the end the high school football playing days for DEA seniors Brandon Blount, Joseph Sparks, John Dekle, John Mark Sweat, Michael Holloway, Marshall Blount and Joseph Powell.
