Tigers capture Region championship
By AGAN TANKERSLEY

COLEMAN FACES DEFENSE
After coming so close to the region championship last season, the Tigers finally grasped the region 3-AA championship. It was easy to detect the "Tiger pride" in the air while walking onto Tiger Field after the victory. "The region championship is not just for the team, it is for community too." said Coach Shane Williamson.

The Tigers started the night off flat, but ended with the win. The first score was when Kawaskie Coleman broke a 10 yard run for a touchdown. Pablo Silva tacked on the extra point, and Swainsboro was now up by seven. As the first half was coming to a close, Rashad James completed a 30 yard touchdown pass to Martez Brown. Extra point was good and at half-time the score was Swainsboro-14, Metter-0.

At the beginning of the second half the Tiger's defense came up with a safety to add two more points on the board. The next touchdown came when James hit Darien Davis for a 15 yard touchdown pass, E.P. good. As the third quarter was coming to a close, James completed another touchdown pass to Byron Foots for 7 yards.

During the fourth quarter, Swainsboro's JV was put in the game to finish things off. After a well fought game by both Tigers, Swainsboro won 30 to 0.

Swainsboro begins the playoffs with Cook who is the Region 1 #4 seed. Cook's overall record is 7- 3 and their region record is 5-3. Swainsboro has home field advantage but still need community support. Come out and support your Tigers!
