Bailey receives national FFArecogniton

BAILEY AND STATE OFFICERS
John Allen Bailey of Swainsboro received the Honorary American FFA Degree during the 80th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 24-27. The Honorary American FFA Degree is the highest honorary degree given by the National FFA Organization and is given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding support of the FFA and agricultural education.

Bailey was nominated for the award by the Georgia FFA Association, and his nomination was approved by the National FFA Board of Directors. Bailey is currently an area forestry teacher with the Georgia Department of Education in Swainsboro. He previously taught agricultural education and served as the FFA advisor at Emanuel County Institute in Twin City. During the Honorary American FFA Degree ceremony, Bailey was presented a certificate and medal. His name will be permanently recorded with other honorary recipients.

State officers and other recipients include State FFASecretary Victoria Hill of Tift County, Jeff Cornwell of Rockmart, State FFA Vice President Casey Wyman of Effingham County, Representative Jay Roberts of Ocilla, Reggie Stowers of Dawsonville, Charles H. Majeski, Jr. of Ashburn, State FFA Vice President Sara Irvin of Southeast Bulloch, Bailey, and State FFAPresident Junior Chapman of Pickens County.
