Operation Christmas Child
Emanuel County's annual Operation Christmas Child project is under way. Helping to organize the effort are David Kent, Ruth Palmer, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, William Johnson, Daniel Peavey and Freddie McVey. Operation Christmas Child is the world's largest children's Christmas project of its kind. Last year, 7.6 million boxes were distributed throughout the world. Donations will be accepted at the drop-off center at Swainsboro First Baptist Church from Nov. 12-15. Non-perishable items may be placed in plastic boxes with a $7 check enclosed for mailing costs. School supplies are suggested along with non-violent toys items. For more information, call Swainsboro FBC at 237-7564.
