SHS Tigers bring down Josey, 50-0
By MICHAEL HENRY

TIGERS DEFENSE IS JUST TOO TOUGH TO HANDLE
After an entire week of Homecoming activities, the Tigers were clearly ready to play some ball. The stands were packed and everyone was pumped from the "extracurricular activities" that only Homecoming brings. It was our Homecoming game, and the Tigers were dead set on showing Josey who was boss.

The first quarter was barely halfway over when the Tiger's quarterback, Rashad James, made a 58 yard rush to score the first touchdown of the game. This impressive 58 yard run was his longest so far this season. Pablo Silva's extra point was good. With a roar of the crowd's approval, the Tiger's efforts made the score at the end of the first quarter Tigers 7, Josey 0.

Three minutes had barely elapsed in the second quarter, when James made a 7 yard pass to Rahan Brown. Brown in turn, scored the first touchdown of the quarter. Silva then made another excellent kick to put the score at Tigers 14, Josey 0. The action, however, was hardly over for the quarter. James took the snap and passed 29 yards to Brown, who scored once again. Silva's kick was true, making the score Tigers 21, Josey 0. It only got better after that. At 9 minutes left in the quarter, Demetrius Moorman, intercepted a Josey pass and returned it 52 yards to score yet another time for the Tigers. Unfortunately, the kick was no good, leaving the score at Tigers 27, Josey 0. With just less than 4 minutes left in the quarter, Josey's offense received a penalty flag at the in-zone, which is an automatic safety. This put the score at Tigers 29, Josey 0. For the last score of the quarter, James passed 17 yards to Darien Davis with 43 seconds left on the clock. Davis scored, and Silva's kick was good, putting the score at the half : Tigers 36, Josey 0.

DEMETRIUS MOOREMAN MAKES A GREAT TACKLE
Before the second half had even begun, the Tigers had already decided that they simply were not through with Josey. So with the speed clock engaged and little time for stoppage, the third quarter was underway. With 5 minutes and 34 seconds left in the quarter, James passed 23 yards to Javec King, who scored for the Tigers. Silva's extra point was once again good, putting the score at Tigers 43, Josey 0. Then with a little more than 2 minutes left in the quarter, Swainsboro intercepted the ball from Josey and made a 2 yard run to score once again. Silva's kick was good, making the score Tigers 50, Josey 0. So after 4 quarters of hard work by the Tigers and lots of cheering from the crowd, the final score of the game was Tigers 50, Josey 0.

The Tiger's head coach, Shane Williamson, said after the game, "Tonight was a big win for us. You know, Homecoming brings a lot of extra activities for all the students, fans, and especially football players. So for us to be able to stay focused in practice was extra hard and I thought the kids did a good job doing that throughout the week and also I was really impressed with how we came out." We should all be impressed by the Tigers' performance on Friday night. It was after all, exactly how a Homecoming game should be, and most definitely a game that we will always remember.

This Friday the Tigers will take on Screven County in an away match. Be sure to be there and support your Tigers. You don't want to miss this game!
