The lottery was a mistake


DEAR EDITOR: Years ago, before the state of Georgia voted on having a lottery, a woman stood up in church pleading us not to vote for it. She had moved to Swainsboro from another state. She said she had seen her state go from being very prosperous to a state of shambles.
