Photo ID required Photo identification is required for in-person voting in the Nov. 6 municipal elections and all future elections. Voters casting their ballots in person are required to show one of the following forms of photo ID: • A Georgia driver's license, even if expired; • Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free Voter ID Card issued by your county registrar or Georgia Department of Driver Services; • Valid U.S. passport; • Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state; • Valid U.S. military photo ID; • Valid tribal photo ID. If you DO NOT have one of these forms of identification, you can receive a free Georgia Voter Identification Card at the Emanuel County Office of Elections and Registration at 105 South Main Street, Swainsboro, GA 30401; Telephone: (478) 237-3471; Fax: (478) 237-5998. "As always, the Elections Office wants to give every eligible citizen the opportunity to exercise his right to vote," said Emanuel County director of Elections Jeb Cameron. "Remember that in order to receive a free Georgia Voter ID Card, a voter must provide documentation of his full name, date of birth, physical address and evidence of voter registration. Georgia Voter ID Cards will not be issued to citizens who have a valid Georgia Driver's License. For questions, please contact our office at (478) 237- 3471." Residents can also visit the local Georgia Department of Driver Services Customer Service Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 994 Hwy 1 North in Swainsboro. Voters who choose to vote absentee ballot by mail do NOT need a photo ID. Absentee ballots can be requested in person or by mail from the Emanuel County Office of Elections and Registration or download an Absentee Ballot Application from the website at http://www.sos.georgia.g ov/elections.
