ECI Bulldogs dominates Redskins, 28-0
The stands quickly filled up as the teams were preparing to come on to the field. Each team came ready to rumble. ECI kicked the ball off to the Redskins and the Bulldogs quickly charged to stop them. ECI seemed to be stopping the Redskins in their tracks and soon Bryan County punted the ball. ECI did not hesitate, Michael Robertson passed the ball to Washaun Ealey who then made a break for it. With the help of his offensive line, Ealey began dodging in out of the Redskin defense. He couldn't be stopped and with 9:44 left on the clock he made the touchdown. Will Hinson then did a fine job kicking the extra point for a 7-0 lead. The Redskins once again had the ball, and they were going to try their best to do something with it. ECI, however, had other plans for the Redskins. Bryan County was tried and tried, but with each play they gained just a few yards, if any. The Bulldogs were coming on strong and the Redskins found themselves force to punt again. Once again with the help of his teammates, Washaun Ealey had the ball and was able to weave in out of the Redskin defense. He was on fire and seemed untouchable; and ran into the endzone. Will Hinson was ready for the challenge and his kick was good. With 5:35 left on the clock and ECI now had a 14-0 lead. The rest of the quarter the teams went back and forth trying keep possession of the ball. Time quickly ran out, and now the second quarter would start. The battle for the ball continued through this quarter as well. Each side's defense was doing a great job holding the other back from reaching its goal. Hit after hit, play after play, neither could get close enough to the end-zone for a touchdown. Then as time was running out, Michael Robertson passed the ball to LaCollie Gordon, who was already waiting in the end-zone. The pass was complete, now it time for Will Hinson once again. The kick was up and good, ECI 21, the Redskins 0. ECI held the Redskins off the remainder of the quarter and was soon half-time. Third quarter started much like the second. It was a battle to just keep the ball. Each team was trying frantically to make a touchdown, but with side having such a strong desire they couldn't get past each other. No one was sure who would end up with the next touchdown, if anybody would get one. Then finally ECI stepped up their game. The ball was passed to Washaun Ealey, the offensive line cleared the field for him and he headed straight for the end-zone. He crossed the 20, the 15, the 10, but from nowhere was hit from the side and stopped at the five yard line. The next play started, Robertson handed the ball to Ealey and he ran right through the Redskin defense for the touchdown. Hinson's kick was good and the score was 28-0. No touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter but ECI still did a great job. The Redskins were coming on stronger than ever and ECI just kept stopping them. The Bulldogs have been doing a great job and they are going to keep working hard. Don't forget to keep coming out and showing your support. This Friday night the Bulldogs have an open but they will playing next Friday night against the Portal Panthers for the ECI homecoming.
