Hubert Topping, 84 SWAINSBORO--Private memorial service for Hubert Topping, 84, will be held at a later date. He died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro after an extended illness. Mr. Topping was born Sept. 7, 1923 in Easthampton, NY. He lived in Melbourne, Fla., most of his life and moved to Swainsboro in 2002. He was a retired auto and truck paint and body man. He played the steel guitar in many country and western bands. Survivors include eight daughters, Peggy Bove of Sag Harbor, N.Y.; Fran Wheeler of Newton, N.C.; Toni Braddy of Swainsboro; Sally Terry and Rose Murphy of Salina, Kansas; Linda Horton of Selma, N.C.; Billiejo Monsell of Garfield; and Elaine Topping of Freeport, N.Y.; one son, Christopher Zbytniuk of Swainsboro; 32 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
