Sandra DeFore, 60

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Sandra DeFore, 60, was held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Swainsboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Varnell and Rev. Leland Collins officiating. Buial was at 4 p.m. at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bloomingdale, with Rev. David Willett officiating. She died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at Community Hospice Inpatient Facility in Vidalia.

Mrs. DeFore, born in Macon, was a member of the Seedlings Garden Club and Swainsboro First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was Partner in Ministry with her husband at Hatley, Andersonville, Bloomingdale, Midway and Swainsboro. She was elected to the city council of Andersonville,was manager of Andersonville Welcome Center, first director of admissions Magnolia Manor on the Coast, served on State Board of Gardening Club of Georgia, and judge at Thomasville Tournament of Roses.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Wayne De- Fore of Swainsboro; three sons, Rev. Ben DeFore (Amy) of Baxley; Rev. Mike DeFore (Jessica) of Edison; and Tony DeFore of Bloomingdale; a daughter, Lora Ogden (Jim); grandchildren, Ben DeFore, Jr., Jamie Ogden, Camille Radar, Danny DeFore, Ashley West and Kati Edwards; and a brother, Harold Carr of Macon.

Pallbearers were Sammy Lee, Rusty Denhardt, Jim Conner, Dennis Christiansen, Grant Hawkins, Jim Curry, Wilber Stevens, and Bobby Peacock. Honorary pallbearers were United Methodist Women, Leroy Williams Sunday School Class, Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group and Seedlings Garden Club.

Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
