Tigers' defense only gets better
BY AGAN TANKERSLEY

TIGERS DRIVE UP FIELD
Coming off a hard loss against Laney, Swainsboro was looking for relief. Relief is what they found when the Tigers traveled to play Vidalia. "Our defense played outstanding," said Head Coach Shane Williamson. Although the final score was low, the Tigers held their heads high with a shut-out against the Indians.

The first half is where all the scoring took place. The first quarter was scoreless but both teams made their way up and down the field. As soon as the second quarter started the Tigers put points on the board. Malcolm Eady connected with Darien Davis for a 18 yard touchdown. Pablo Silva tacked on the extra point. From this point forward the Tigers' defense played even harder. The Indians were backed into their own territory when the Indians quarterback tried to throw a screen. Denzel Cheeks made it in the backfield and intercepted the ball. Cheeks ran it in for a defensive touchdown. Silva's kick was good and going into the half, Tigers 14 and Indians 0.

The last half of the game both teams remained scoreless and the final score was Tigers 14, Indian's 0. The Tigers will travel to Augusta once again to face Westside. This is a region game for the Tigers and a key game as well. If the Tigers can win against Westside they will have plenty of momentum for Jefferson County the following week. "Westside has a well coached team," said Coach Williamson.
