Jenkins to perform at Arts Emanuel

JENKINS
Donald Jenkins will perform at Arts Emanuel in downtown Swainsboro on Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. A local educator and former Swainsboro City councilman, Jenkins is also a popular entertainer. A featured performer at the Emanu'Ole Opry, he is best known for singing Gospel and Rhythm & Blues. For the festival he will offer a selection of music from the 50s and 60s, featuring the ballads of Sam Cooke.

Area dance studios, Magic Marc and B to the 4th Power with Amanda Brantley-Bell, Brandon Bell, Cassie Brantley and Logan Brantley will also perform live on the Boneyard. Art exhibits, children's art activities, an artists market, and food vendors are also part of the event which beginnings at 10 am. Following the festival at 5p.m., the Second Saturday Art Stroll will begin. At 8 p.m., Afromotive will perform on the Boneyard. To learn more about the stroll visit GalleryRFD.org or the Afromotive.com.

Organized by the Emanuel Artists Guild with support of the Emanuel Arts Council and the City of Swainsboro, the community event is funded by the Georgia Rural Economic Center at East Georgia College, the Mill Creek Foundation, Georgia Council for the Arts, and area sponsors. Daniels Chevrolet and the Downtown Commission for Arts and Commerce provide the entertainment.
