Governor David Emanuel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution member Virginia Faulkner Bolton has been named the recipient of both the Georgia DAR Historic Preservation Award and the National Society DAR Historic Preservation Medal in recognition of her outstanding achievement in preserving the visual and oral histories of local World War II veterans.

These awards will be presented by State DAR Regent Mrs. Laura Reid at the Franklin Memorial Library on Nov. 11. Mrs. Bolton stated that she would like for this presentation to be a special time to honor all World War II veterans who have participated in this preservation project. The World War II Veterans Wall, a part of this project, will also be available for viewing by the public at this time.

The presentation of these awards will be a part of the Veterans Day Program to be held at the library on November 11th. The Governor David Emanuel Chapter of the DAR and the staff of Franklin Memorial Library will honor all local veterans with a special program planned for Veterans Day as well as other related activities planned to show appreciation and give recognition to all Emanuel County veterans.
