School holiday

Schools and offices in the Emanuel County School System will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day. All will return to their regular schedules on Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to Superintendent Butch Frye.

Mill Creek

The next meeting of the Mill Creek Foundation Grantors is slated for Thursday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. Non-profit organizations holding a 501(c)(3) status are invited to submit applications for grants on forms available from the Foundation office. At the meeting, Grantors will consider those applications received before Sept. 11.

GED registration slated Sept. 4

The GED Examination registration will be held at Swainsboro Tech Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. in Building 8 and 6 p.m. in Building 1. Test is Sept. 10 and 11.

Cost of taking the exam is $95. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and present a picture I.D. at the time of registration. If applicants are 18 or 19 years old, an official withdrawal from the last school attended must be presented at registration.

Blood drives

American Red Cross blood drives in Swainsboro will be held on the following dates:

Sept. 4: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., East Georgia College Swainsboro, 131 College Circle.

Sept. 27: 2-7 p.m., Vann Community Center, 108 Roberts St.

Henry reunion

The Henry reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 at Varner 4-H Center. Come early to socialize between 11-12:15 p.m. Lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m.

Farm Bureau meeting

Emanuel County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting Monday, Sept. 10 at the Farm Bureau building beginning at 7 p.m.
